The keurig coffee company helps start many people’s days of. People use the cartridges for Keurig machine and then just throw them away. The little cartridges are hard to recycle because they are not biodegradable. Our world needs to be as green as possible and throwing these things in the trash doesn’t help. The keurig coffee company needs to find a way to make the cartriges recyclable that way we can enjoy a fresh cup of coffe and help our earth out.
When the keurig coffee company came into the world it had a new exciting way to help people get a cup of coffee. With the little cartridges people don’t have to grind beans or measure coffee or even clean a pot. The cups are more effective, but they are still at the disadvantage of not being recyclable. Over 9 billion cartridges have been sold. All those cartridges will just go into a landfill and sit and pollute the earth. So how do they stay effective and be green? Keurig produced the ” my k-cup”. It is the same as the cartridge but you have to wash it and fill it with coffee like an ordinary filture. Now you can reuse the cartridge.
I like to drink coffee in the mornings sometimes and we just use the pot. We have to grind the beans and clean the pot. We just throw away the grinds in the trash. I think it would be cool to use the cartridges that way you have to do less. But we do drink coffee a lot in my family and it wouldn’t help throwing away all those cartridges in the trash and letting them pile up. If they were recyclable we could drink as much as we wanted and still be green.
So if keurig ends up making a recyclable cartridge, it will end up doing good for the earth. People will be able to make a cup of coffee more quickly and effectively while being green. It will influence other coffe companies to try to go green as well. As much coffe as the world drinks today, keurig will be making a difference. Stay green and make coffee in an easier way.
I think people should take notice on bullying. The problem is getting worse and worse and we need to fix it. All we need to do is stand up against the bully and tell an adult. If we all take a stand and stop these bully’s, the world can be a better place. Bullying effects everybody, and no one should do it
People should learn about the holocaust because it was a major event in our worlds history. It teaches kids that it’s unfair to be racist and that we should except everybody and there cultures. Also that no matter what religion you are should not matter how you are treated. The holocaust shows that we should respect those who fought to stop it and the ones who died in it. People should learn that if we get along, we will be more productive and successful as human beings.
Technology is becoming a big part in our world today. We use it every where. But technology is becoming more and more popular in schools and keeps spreading. So is technology taking over completely in schools? If so will it help the learning world be more productive?
Kids have to lug around text books every day, all the way home and back to school. And lots of times they are lost or damaged. By replacing these big heavy textbooks with smart tablets such as iPads, they will be easier to travel with and better to keep track of. This technology will help out tremendously! You will be able to download the textbooks on the tablet or piece of technology and use it as well as the other features that come with the device. The student can take notes in the device on what he is reading. And if he has a question he will be able to pull up the Internet and get helpful facts. As long as being able to email reports and projects.
In my English class we have a set of iPads. These tremendously help with assignments and story’s we have to type.we have the Internet to help us and other useful apps that make our work more successful and productive. The iPads are easier to keep up with and I can save all my work and come back to it the next day. We can email our teacher our work And get good feedback, and helpful advice. Plus they Are a lot lighter than a textbook!
Technology is taking a productive turn on learning today. We need to get more schools equipped with better updated technology and learning ways. It will really help kids to get ready for the big world and jobs. Many jobs today are filled with technology. By preparing kids now, they will be more ready when the time comes to get a degree and job.
One of my group members stated that in his book the character still his nightmares about what he had to go through. The holocaust was very very hard for these prisoners and the character couldn’t stop thinking about it. I Understand when something like that happens. Everything around you in some way can make you think about it, and it gets in your head and stays there. It just takes time to get it away.
In my book the character has to overcome basically the holocaust. He goes through so many hard things , whether it’s his family being killed or getting beat or great exhaustion. He had to have a positive attitude and keep on pushing through. When times got even harder he had to just suck it up and deal with it. And at the end, he survived.
In the holocaust the Jewish were being rounded up and just killed for no reason. In Africa this terrible man Joseph Kony is kidnapping kids in villages and making them join his army to kill. It’s so bad and something that needs to be stopped. Conditions at times are almost like the holocaust. Kids are killing innosent people just because Kony forces them too. Like the holocaust these people just have to hope for the best and stay positive. I really hope that these kids are freed, and Kony is stopped!
Practice makes perfect. But how much practice do you really need to perfect something. People all around the world have jobs and tasks they need to do, and they have to practice to perform that job correctly. As well people have many ways to practice. So how do you know when you have perfected something. How do we really know if it’s working.
Alaa Ahmed states that once you practice and preform a task enough, over time you can cut down unneeded movements or steps that would normally waste your practice time. After practicing each time you get more and more comfortable with the task. When you don’t practice you don’t become more familiar and comfortable. As well as confident. The more practice you do the more your body takes in and the more muscle memory you get. Now your body remembers this task.
A lot of times I have to practice or I will fail in the task. I have many ways to practice and study for things that help. When I don’t practice I’m not confident, and that leads to failure. In the article Ahmed states that even though the task has been learned , you must keep on practicing. When you keep practicing you become even more comfortable and your body is ready to take on the task to a better extent. And the person will have success on that performance.
And it’s always important to practice the right way. If you practice something that isn’t helpful, your getting better at something that won’t help you. Practice the thing s that your not good at. That way you will be confident and ready to take on an important task. Good practice habits help you stay on task and get better. Even when you think you have perfected something, keep on practicing!
How could a single post on a website, help change the life of a orphanage in Kenya. When Penn-state student Ben Hardwick posted a picture of a brave hero trying to save his village on the site, it seemed like a miracle happened. People do make a difference in this world. And allot of it is through the Internet. Millions and millions of people visit social networking sites, to keep up with friends and things that are going on around the world. And lots of times they can make a big change.
Hardwick, who has an internship with Kenya heard a story about a village that was being attacked and how the owner took a machete to the face to defend the children. When Hardwick met the man Anthony Omari, he posted a couple pictures of him on the Internet. Omaris face had a zipper like scar on the forehead. Omari took the injury when a couple of local thieves easily got past the weak fence( the orphanages only type of security) and tried to attack him and steal from the orphanage.Omari was only able to hold them off for a couple of minutes, only defending himself with a rod.
With a lack of money and supplies it was hard for the orphanage to have a good security system. The only fence they had was very week and broken. So when people saw the picture that Hardwick posted on the media site, they started sending in donations. And week after week the fund grew up to $80,000. With this money the orphanage was able to get a better fence,night guards, pay for school, get new supplies and beds for the children. Omari was amazed when he saw how much money they got.
It’s so cool that one caring person and a little help can change the lives of others. Now this one orphanage that once had almost nothing can live a better life and be completely worry free. It’s a great idea to post stuff on sights that lots of people go too. That way t you can spread the word, and get the message out. People do care and like In this story wanted to make a difference and a good cause.
Lots of people love to drink coffee to help them start the day off. But lots of it ends up just going down the drain. So the Keurig coffee company started to try to find a way to let you choose how much coffee you want and, be able to recycle the container. The land fills are filling up, and we are loosing space. It’s important that every company recycles so we stay green.
In the article they say that 13% of offices in the U.S have the Keurig machine and cartridges. And if you have lots of people in your offices you will need lots of coffee. So you are going to need lots of cartridges. And once they pile up, your going to want to get rid of them. And so week after week if you just throw these away your not really being green. The company is trying to make a cartridge that is recyclable. Now you will help the earth, and reduce a global problem.
Personally I do drink coffee, but I don’t have the Keurig. I just throw away the little pod thing. But if Keurig dose switch to a recyclable pod, it would consider it. My coffee machine does let me choose how much I want. That helps so I don’t waste it.
So if Keurig does make a recyclable pod and let’s you manage how much you want to drink, I think it will help them make money. More people will want them for there home. Also lots of company’s and offices as well will probably want one. Not only that, but the world will also be more green. And we won’t waste coffee all the time.
I think that this is a very cool article. It realy does help when writing a blog or story. Lots of times people only think of what they hear and right it down. And don’t think it out. People should think of what it’s going to sound like to other people.
On the first topic of not being selfish it covers writing for the reader not yourself. Is your message going to be interesting and fun to read or boring and non fun to read. Don’t write just to get an easy a, or a quick buck. Write to entertaine and make the reader excited.
Next is proofreading and making sure you have no mistakes. Nothing makes a reader want to stop reading more than bad mistakes and something to hard to understand and read. It’s realy not that hard to do. Just read over your passage. Now most computers have a spell check that will let you know if a word is spelled wrong. Or just have somebody read it for you, and have them tell you if something doesn’t sound right.
And in the end, be like spongebob. Work hard and don’t give up, and good things will come. A goal with out effort is just a wish. Sometimes you have to put a little more effort and time but In the end you will get something good out of it.
What you put in is what you get out.
In this article I learned alot. The lady who took the picture ment for it just to be a fun photo, but people made too much contravirsity out of it. People started to think that if they took the picture and put it on one of their blogs that they could make money. Or they thought that they could be popular.
And when doing that if you own a news station or big blog, you have to get that persons permission and sometimes even pay them. The lady who took the picture probably got really annoyed. Only 5 people out of about 112 people payed her to use the pic. Even then some company’s and businesses thought that the photo violated some rules or something. Now for sure that would make me upset. The lady didn’t want to be famous and become a millionaire, off of the picture. She just wanted to show her friends a cool photo.
A lot of selfish people wanted to take this photo and make them selves famous or Rich and not even give this lady any credit. That is completely not fare.un less the lady who took the picture says so,it’s wrong. And it’s not that hard to take a cool phot these days. It just so happened that this lady was on a plane and looked out of here window at the right time. The same or similar thing could happen to anybody. Or you could actually work for once and make your own money or become popular in your own way.
I think that my grade should sufficent. I offer a claim and good vocab. I have a logical explanation, and shows general understanding. I need to not do run on sentences.
